Home, Sweet Home!

Monday 20th April

Hello everybody!

How are you? I hope David enjoyed the birthday party he went to yesterday.

As I told you, this term Coby is going to meet famous Americans and British people. Last week, Coby met Obama and David told us about the meeting.

Obama is the first black president in the USA. He is 53 years old. He has got two daughters. He lives in the White House. Coby likes living in the White House.  David also told us the names of Obama’s daughters and Obama’s wife. And he made a picture of Coby and the map of the USA.
Look at it! Well done David.
Next week, Coby is meeting Henry VIII!

We continued talking about daily routines and present simple.
You still have some problems with the third person singular, he / she / it.
You can practise watching the video we watched in class. It’s on the blog, again. It explains when to add –s / -es/ -ies
We explained this in class. Do you remember?

In most of the verbs we add ‘s’ for the third person singular: he, she, it
In verbs ended in ‘sh’, ‘ch’, ‘o’ and ‘ss’ we add ‘es’.
When the verb ends in ‘consonant + y’ we change it in ‘ies’.
When the verb ends in ‘vowel + y’ we don’t change it. We add  ‘s’.
